Strathcona County Library

I must say, I love the new Strathcona County Library (SCL)! Not only does it promote education and literacy, but our library is bigger and better than ever before!

Strathcona County Library In 2010, Sherwood Park residents saw the SCL open its doors for the first time after relocating to 401 Festival Lane. Spread out over an area of 64,000 square feet, our library features group study rooms, staff areas, and program rooms.

Programs offered at the library are suitable for all family members- from preschool children to adults there’s always something here for everyone. During the Summer, the library also hosts Reading Games for kids ands adults looking to have a bit of fun. This library is dedicated to the community in and around Sherwood Park. As such, they established and operate Bookmobile that takes the library’s resources to Rural Strathcona County residents!

Mission: “Strathcona County Library encourages literacy and lifelong learning, fosters community connections, and offers programs and services that inform, engage, and entertain.”
Vision: “Strathcona County Library, the heart of the community, inspires literacy, learning, and creativity.”

If you haven’t checked out the new library, I encourage you to take a trip there this weekend. They have great hours of operation, along with friendly and knowledgeable staff who can readily answer your questions.

The SCL is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. For more information visit their website.
